CNN —Uri Berliner, a National Public Radio senior editor who wrote a scathing online essay accusing the public radio network of harboring a liberal bias, said Wednesday he had resigned from the outlet. “I am resigning from NPR, a great American institution where I have worked for 25 years,” Berliner wrote in a resignation letter to NPR chief executive Katherine Maher, which he posted to his X account. Berliner’s resignation came after he was suspended for five days without pay over his 3,500-word piece in the anti-establishment publication The Free Press. In his resignation letter, Berliner said he did not support calls to defund NPR and that he wants to see the audio-focused outlet thrive. New York CNN —Harvard University and its interim president have condemned an image circulated on social media by pro-Palestinian campus groups, prompting the groups to remove and apologize for the posting. The three groups that circulated the image issued their own statements criticizing it. The groups said they had removed the image, but “it should never have been published to begin with. Garber assumed the post of interim president after former Harvard President Claudine Gay resigned last month amid criticism that she and the school had not responded sufficiently against antisemitism on campus. The criticism about Harvard’s response to antisemitism on campus has prompted some major financial donors to withdraw support of the school.

But MAGA Media personalities like Sean Hannity quickly shifted into hyperdrive last year when a supposedly “highly credible” FBI informant claimed to have smoking gun evidence of the conspiracy. The emergence of a confidential FBI informant coursed through right-wing media, where talking heads and outlets spotlighted the claims as damning evidence of criminal wrongdoing. Those actions were then celebrated in right-wing media. The charges dealt a blow to the narrative Fox News had championed on its air and Republicans had pressed in Congress. The stunning demise of the claim is just the latest in a larger pattern from Fox News and the broader right-wing media ecosystem in which it operates.

According to a 2023 survey by FIRE of roughly 1,500 four-year college professors, 50% identify as liberal, 17% as moderate, and 26% as conservative. Ashkelon, Israel CNN —Souad Al-Alem was one of the roughly 10,000 people forced to flee the Palestinian town of al-Majdal. It was 1948, she was a young woman and Israel’s troops were approaching the community during the Arab-Israeli war in what is now part of the Israeli city of Ashkelon. Now in her 90s and living in Gaza, Al-Alem has been forced to run again. All of its houses are long gone, replaced with modern Israeli buildings that are now part of Ashkelon. Of the six sites of former villages visited by CNN earlier this week, none had any information about Palestinian villages on display.

So issues of sleep, issues of self-esteem, issues of body image. This is a perfect opportunity for a do-over because controlling our kids' social media feels so big and it feels so hard.
